The water of the Holy Well is particularly pure having spent up to five years slowly travelling through the chalk to the point it emerges at this point on the beach just west of Eastbourne.The spring flows 24 hours a day 365 days a year. In 2014 the spring/well disappeared when a particularly high tide washed stones and pebbles up the beach to completely cover the site, however early in 2015 Andrew and James Anderton excavated the well and it is now in the best condition that we have ever seen it.
